Matt Meuleners
Matt Meuleners won back-to-back NCAA heavyweight National Championships in 2011 and 2012.

 
Lucas Lorenz
Lucas Lorenz finished his Northern State baseball career as the all-time homeruns leader with 46.
Sasha Hovind
Sasha Hovind finished her Northern State career as an 11-time NCAA All-American in track and field and cross country. She also earned academic honors being named a CoSIDA Academic All-American, NCAA Elite 90 recipient, and the NSIC Britton-Kelly Award winner.
 
Jamie Fisher
Jamie Fisher broke the single season wins record, with 22 pitching victories for the Wolves softball team in 2018.  
 
National Champions

Amanda Madden
Amanda Madden won the weight throw and hammer NCAA National Championships in 2010, becoming the first NCAA National Champion in program history.
 
Drew Smith
Drew Smith ended her Northern State volleyball career as an NCAA First Team All-American as well as the NSU all-time assists leader with 4,774, breaking the 15 year old school record.
 
Men's Indoor and Outdoor Track
The men’s indoor and outdoor track and field teams have won 30 conference championships in the programs history, and have produced 248 individual conference champions.
 
Men's Basketball
In 2018, the Wolves men’s basketball finished the year as the NCAA National Finalist. They reached the Elite 8 for just the second time in program history, tied the single season wins record with 18 consecutive wins, and broke single season school record for wins (38).
 
Letter Jackets
The Northern State Athletic Department revived an old tradition of awarding letter jackets to deserving student-athletes in 2017, with more than 130 athletes were recognized.
 
Football
The Northern State University football team won their first NSIC North Division Championship in 2015, finishing the year with a 6-1 record in divisional play. Conner Doherty and Channing Barber also earned All-American status that season. 
Kira Wannebo
In 2007, Kira Wannebo, became the first soccer player to be named an All-American in program history.
 
Hannah Kastigar
Hannah Kastigar became the first NCAA National Swimming Champion in program history winning both the 400 IM and 200 Fly in 2017.
